I'm on a roll

3 posts in one day. WHAT?! I'm on a roll. I wanted to share this card I made today with you all. I used one of my vintage re-prints and made a vintage(y) style Halloween card. I LOVE how it came out. In fact if it wasn't for Halloween being less than a week away, I would have offered this as a mini kit. Maybe I still will , I mean Halloween happens every year so why not, right!

Oh I added a Christmas Vintage Kit to my etsy store too....

Vintage Ephemera

I'm on a vintage kick lately and thought I'd offer up some kits in hopes that all you vintage mama's out there would love them and buy them all up LOL.

You can find them in my etsy store. I can't wait to post my Christmas kits for you all to see. I'll let you all know when those are up.

Coffee anyone

So my last post showed me very first coffee cuff (that's what I'm callin' them thanks to my sister) and this post shows the progression of my ability to crochet. After 5 or 6 I've finally got the stitch down and it's nice and clean. How cute would this be for a quick gift for the holidays for someone that you need to get a quick gift for. (i.e. a co-worker). You could buy a coffee shop gift card and put it in a coffee cup from that shop (that wouldn't be eco-friendly but it would be cute) and put the coffee cuff on the cup and give them the card and VIOLA! Instant gift for about the price of a cup of coffee (without the gift card of course).

You can get this combo in my etsy store. I'm sure it won't last long but the good news is I will be making more but I don't have a time frame when they'll be done.

My new obsession - Coffee and yarn

So sometimes I get sick of stamping and scrapping. I know, I know....how can I possibly say that?! It's not so much that I get sick of it but I run out of mojo. Know what I mean? So last year I wanted to start crocheting. I went to my G'ma's house so she could teach me. I knew how to knit but the only thing I could do with a crochet needle is a chain stitch. So off I went to G'ma's and she taught me how to do a granny square and some other very basic stitches. I had high hopes for a blanket with granny squares. I did 25 squares in a matter of days and put it off to the side. I can't for the life of me remember how to do those darn squares now. So anywho, I saw this really cute idea on line to make coffee cup cozies. So I thought it would be a cute holiday gift idea (cheap and handmade) for all my coffee lovin' friends and family along with a cute matching coffee card or something. So here's my first one - the 2nd and 3rd are much neater and cleaner. I am keeping this one for myself. Whattaya think?

Yes, I spent $4 on a coffee so I could have the cup and the sleeve to go by, let's not talk about how the yarn and the crochet hook cost less than the stupid coffee!

Oh the possibilities of the images I could put on a cozy. Oh the ideas fluttering through my little head. I'm taking my yarn to work to make more while it's slow (people aren't gettin' their hair done during these rough economic times) and I'm sure I'll have plenty of time to make a bunch.

Where does the time go?

Just wanted to let everyone know I'm still here. I've been so busy and there's A LOT going on. But I am gettin' crafty this weekend. I actually bought 2 stamps sets at M's today. I haven't purchased anything in so long, I figured I reward myself for working my booty off the last few months. So with that being said, I will be posting some fun stuff tomorrow and Monday. But first I have to go cook dinner...oh joy! Peace out til tomorrow peeps :D

Tis the season to be jolly....

Fa la la la la la la la la....

I've been working my little butt off trying to finish this Christmas album. I participated in a swap through a meetup I belong to and in true Toni fashion, I waited til the last minute to do my album. It's like I always say though, I do my very best work under pressure. This is no exception if I do say so myself. I am extremely proud of this book. I still have 4 more pages to do but they are pretty small so I'll get it finished by tonight. But so far, this is what I've done. The whole thing was supposed to be very vintage but it didn't really go that way. It's got a bit of a vintage feel but maybe that's because I used the Crafty Secrets Vintage Christmas Set in it.
Other than that it's not very vintagey...sorry Mary (that's who the book is for). I tried :D

I love the cover though:

Gotta love Core'dinations paper!!

These are definitely my favorite two pages:

Although, I like these too:

Stamping for my own sanity

Pretty much the only thing keeping me sane these days is losing myself in my paper projects...when I have time that is. Things are crazy hectic and to top it off we're probably going to have to move in the next 3 months. I feel bad for anyone who's been effected by the economy like we have. It's not an easy time. And I hope if you've been effected that you keep your chin up and surround yourself with as much positive as possible. It's really easy to fall into a slump or even a depression and once that happens it's really hard to pull yourself out of it. So hopefully those of you truly being effected you are able to find some sanity in the things you love.

Anyway on to happier things...again with the Dustin pike images (I can't help it they are just sooo happy) I created this card with the intention of it being my sister's b-day card but after finishing it I've decided that I'm going to do something else for her. This led to another card that I've been trying to complete now for at lease the last hour.....after her b-day I'll post it for you all to see.

So here' a little monkey to make you smile :D

Hot chocolate anyone?

How cute is this little guy?! Another Dustin Pike image and another Christmas card. So far I have 3 card designs and am doing 5-6 of each. Who knows though, I may add another design after I go through the rest of my images. I really wanted to puff up the marshmallows but I still can't find my puffy paint! I'm getting really annoyed by it too.

Anywho, off to another day at the salon! Have a fabulous Wednesday :)

Fun Times

I've been having so much fun with my Dustin Pike images. I know, I know, I'm digi cheating but his images are sooo freakin' cute. They take me back to being a kid when I'd watch this show on PBS called The Secret City...I used to try so hard to draw like him. His show would teach you how to draw but I just don't have that artistic ability. Dustin Pike on the other hand has it and rocks it! If I recall correct, he also was a fan of the show. Anywho, I love his images and right now he's having a special where you can buy all of his image (with the exception of a few) for just $25. I believe he's going rubber which is very exciting :D Anyway on to my card. I actually have a few cards to show you but for today we'll start with this one.

Someday I'll be able to take good photos...yeah right. I do great with scenes and people but for some reason taking photos of my cards just doesn't work too well. Oh well...moving right along...

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Everywhere you go.....

Seriously, it's making me nauseous! It's too early to be thinking about Christmas and that is my favorite time of the year! But because of all the holiday hoopla I am trying to get a head start on my Christmas cards. So far I've done 2 designs. I typically stick with one and mass produce them (an then rarely ever send them out even after they are addressed) but this year I decided to try something new. I did six of this little elfin girl (didn't realize it was a girl until I saw her ponytail sticking out from her hat!) and then this super simple front door. The elf is Stampendous and the door is Mo's Digital Pencil. Can I just tell you that I'm in love with Mo's images (shhhhh don't tell the owner of the digi shack).
Ok so here's my Elf card. I used some really fab paper but I can't find it to tell you who it is. It's possible that it's My Minds Eye or even Kaiser but I'm not positive. I got it at the LSS

And here's my other card - I used some brown paper and some DP from the happily ever after DCWV stack or what ever it's called. I'm way too lazy to get up and look ;)

I haven't decided if I like the snowflake on the the side yet. It was an after thought. I really just wanted to play with some nesties I got from a scrappin' friend over the weekend. We bartered. I love bartering especially when you both have something the other person wants.

Here's the close up of the snow. I just colored about 5 more doors yesterday and got ready to assemble the card and I can't find my liquid applique anywhere. Actually it's not liquid applique it's Tulip brand puffy paint. Exactly the same but half the price for a huge bottle.

For the elf card I used copics to color and for the door I used Prisma pencils and OMS.

Seriously?!

So I've been reading on about this whole SU! new policy where their demo's can not be on design teams, etc. I have one thing to say....WTF?! Seriously?! That has to be the most absurd thing I think I've every heard. Talk about stifling someone's creativity. Do they seriously think they are the only game out there? Or maybe they are trying to be the only game out there. And let's not get me started on the fact that if you are a SU! demo you can't have a link on your blog to someone else who sells or uses another companies products?! What part of 1099 contractor do they not understand?! What these demo's do on their own personal blogs is none of SU!'s business. Even if their blog is to promote their business as a demo and they use other companies products it's not hurting SU! any. In fact, wouldn't you think that if I had a lovely card on my blog with SU! images and another companies images, that that would show versatility thus benefiting SU! and the demo?! I am not a demo (I used to be) but I think this is just the most ludicrous thing I've ever heard. It's like Macy's telling their employees that they can only shop in Macy's because it would be a conflict of interest otherwise. Yeah, that makes sense *rolling eyes*

I presume that SU! isn't making millions right now and their business has been effected by this horrible economy so they've taken it upon themselves to restrict their demo's creativity to hopefully increase their revenue! Shellie has lost her mind! I for one will not be purchasing another SU! item/or Clearsnap item in the future unless they lift this ridiculous rule from the demos!

Ok I've said my peace and will hop down from my soap box now :)

A "sweet" little card

I made this card a few weeks ago while going through my scraps. I printed this image from Pink Petticoat a long time ago and had a couple of printouts left so I thought I'd make a card using scraps. You know, no matter how hard I try to use up my scraps, the piles just get bigger and bigger. I'm stuck again for a way to sort them too. For a while I was just using large ziploc bags sorted by color but it's just not working for me anymore. Anyone have any suggestions? Please feel free to share :)

Anyway, onto the card. I colored with Prisma's and OMS and used lots of glitter. The pink embellishments on this card are my FAV. I don't know what they are called, I got them from Stamping Bella free with an order I placed a million years ago. I have them in 3 colors but really want them in all the colors. They are better than buttons and I love buttons :) So it's really simple but I like simple cards so I like it. I did stamp on the inside but since I can't find the card, I don't know what it says. This is rare for me too...I mean the stamping on the inside. I think it says something like "so sweet of you" or You're sweet" or something like that. Ok, I'm all done babbling. Off to work...maybe when I get home tonight I'll have a little stamping time. Depends on how tired i am after working til 7.

Have a great day stampers!!!!

Aka Blog Candy over at TDS.

I finally found this card photo that I've been meaning to post for a while now. I couldn't find where I saved it. I haven't really don't anything crafty in a while especially since I started my new job. I'll try to get some stuff posted this weekend. Depending of course on how hot my stamp room is if we can't get the AC fixed.

Anoother thank you card

I made this one for my sister's mother in law, Mary. She's always sending me cute cards and I wanted to thank her for the graduation card she sent me. I love this SU! set and I never get to use it so I thought I'd use it for this card. I'm addicted to water coloring and I love using my inks and anything non-traditional to water color. In fact my newest craze is using Kaleidacolor pads to water color. Anywho, I think I used CTMH inks and SU! inks to water color this one. I think this is one of the few cards I made with a saying on the inside. But I can't remember. Anywho...here it is. Enjoy!
